Originating from the famous Xianghualing mining district
Xianghualing, located in Linwu County in Hunan Province, is one of China's most renowned mineral sites. The area lies approximately 25 kilometers north of Linwu and about 70 kilometers southwest of Chenzhou. The mine is internationally known for its rich mineral deposits and has produced a large number of high-quality collectible minerals over decades that are prized by collectors worldwide.
An important tin, lead, and zinc region
The Xianghualing Deposit is classified as a so-called Skarn-type Sn-Pb-Zn deposit. Geological surveys have shown that the area contains an estimated 134,000 tonnes of tin metal and approximately 178,000 tonnes of lead and zinc metal . These exceptional geological conditions have led to the formation of a wide variety of minerals, including some particularly fine calcite specimens such as this piece.
