Rock crystal: the clear variant of quartz
Rock crystal is the colorless and transparent variety of quartz and consists of silicon dioxide (SiO₂). The mineral has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale and can vary from virtually crystal clear to specimens with natural inclusions, cracks, veils, or milky areas. It is precisely these differences that give each crystal its own unique appearance. At TimmersGems, you will find rock crystal in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and finishes.
In nature, quartz often grows in characteristic crystal points. Depending on the conditions during growth, crystals can form individually or together in a cluster. Other minerals or liquids may also be enclosed during growth. For collectors, it is precisely such natural growth forms, clarity, and special inclusions that are interesting features.
From natural crystal points to polished shapes
Rock crystal is offered in both its natural and processed form. Rough points and crystal clusters primarily show the original crystal growth, while polished pieces place more emphasis on clarity, shape, and light reflection.
In addition, rock crystal is processed into various decorative shapes. Within the Sphere, Egg, Heart & Pyramid , you will find various minerals that are fully or partially polished. As a result, rock crystal can be used in different ways as a collector's item or decorative object.
Various quartz varieties and aura rock crystal
Within this category, you will find not only completely clear rock crystal. There are also various quartz varieties and treated versions. For example, TimmersGems offers Lemon Quartz points and Lemon Quartz spheres, among others .
Another striking group is aura quartz. In this case, rock crystal is treated with a very thin layer of metal, creating special colors and shimmering effects. An example is the Aqua Aura sculpture from Arkansas. Angel Aura Lemurian ice crystal has a striking, iridescent appearance due to this treatment.
Rock crystal jewelry
Rock crystal is offered not only as a loose mineral or decorative object, but is also incorporated into jewelry. Its clear appearance and natural crystal structure make the stone suitable for pendants, bracelets, and jewelry with silver, among other things.
A special example is a Faden quartz pendant in 925/000 silver. With Faden quartz, a characteristic thread-like growth line is often visible in the crystal. Additionally, there are Angel Aura quartz bracelets, where treated rock crystal provides a striking luster.
Natural crystal points and double-ended stones are also crafted into pendants. For example, you will find an Aura Rock Crystal pendant and larger Himalayan double-ended pendants. You can find more jewelry with natural stones within the gemstone jewelry.
Rock crystal on a stand and for spiritual use
Larger or unusually shaped crystals can be placed on a stand so that the natural shape and crystal structure remain clearly visible. Within minerals on pins, you will find various minerals presented in this way.
Additionally, rock crystal is traditionally used in meditation, gemstone therapy, and other spiritual applications. The mineral therefore also appears in various chakra products, often in combination with other gemstones. The energetic properties attributed to rock crystal stem from spiritual traditions and have not been scientifically proven.
