Bronze Figurines: These beautiful bronze figurines are made in Sidoarjo, a small regency near Surabaya, in a subdistrict called Waru, just between the border of Surabaya and Sidoarjo. They are made by a company owned by a woman who creates these small works of art with a passion for bronze casting. Our series of figurines consists of various stately Buddhas, Ganeshas, elephants, Shivas, and other figurines from Buddhism and Hinduism. Buddha was a spiritual leader on whose teachings Buddhism is based. According to Buddhist tradition, he lived from approximately 450 BC to approximately 370 BC in Nepal and India. Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, removes obstacles and is the patron saint of travelers. Hindus pray to Ganesha before starting something new, such as a new job or when moving. Shiva represents the transmuting or destructive aspect of God. Everything in creation exists only temporarily and will sooner or later be transmuted or destroyed.
