Description
Mountain Sage, Artemesia tridentata, is a wonderful tool for shamanism, journeying, pathworking, divination, and dreamwork. Native American smudge incense sticks are used for purifying the atmosphere, dispersing negativity, and providing protection. Smudges emit a rich, soothing smoke. Very refreshing, relaxing, and clear—as if traveling through the clouds…powerful and purifying. Lavender, long associated with the heart chakra and the air element, is called "The Mother Plant" and "Grandmother Plant" by healers for its versatile uses and medicinal properties. Lavender works to calm and soothe those with a keen interest in spiritual phenomena who tend to absorb a great deal of spiritual energy that they cannot process quickly. It then teaches how to regulate and process the influx of psychic energy. To burn a smudge stick, simply light the tip, blow it out, and wave it in the air, or place it in a glass or metal container (one that won't burn) with sand or salt inside to keep the smudge upright. To extinguish it, swirl smudges in the sand or salt to smudge. Smudges emit a rich, soothing smoke.
