Perfume oil is oil-based, in contrast to many cheap oils that are alcohol-based.
Essential oil is also called aromatic, volatile, or volatile oil. Essential oils are volatile oils extracted from plants. Perfume oils, on the other hand, are chemically synthesized and are intended to mimic a scent. Perfume oil is cheaper, but is also less strong. The word ethereal comes from the Greek aither. Literally, aither means air of the heavens. With aither, the Greeks denoted the lowest layer of the cosmos. Sometimes it is spelled “aetherische olies” (essential oils). Like ether, essential oils are volatile and strongly scented. The term essential oil is an Anglicism and comes from the English word essence, which means extract. Essential oils can be extracted from various parts of a plant, for example, the blossom, the fruit, the seed, the leaves, the peel, or the wood (of the trunk, branches, or roots). Sometimes different parts of a plant contain different essential oils. Some types of essential oil are quite expensive. This is because sometimes many plants are needed to produce a small amount of oil. An inexpensive oil, for example, is orange oil, because orange peels are a waste product of the juice industry. Rose oil, for example, is expensive, because a very large number of roses specially cultivated for the oil are needed to produce a small amount of essential oil.
