A manufacturer of ear candles sells them as “Hopi” ear candles; however, there is no treatment among the Hopi that even remotely resembles an ear candle treatment. It is difficult to say where the use of ear candles began, but the origin most likely lies in ancient China. An ear candle treatment lasts between 15 and 45 minutes; during this time, one or two ear candles are used for each ear. We accept no responsibility whatsoever for the effectiveness or use of the ear candles. Keep in mind that you are working with fire, and even though the flames are small, you can burn yourself, and they can start a large fire if you are not paying attention to the ear candles. Make sure you have something at hand to extinguish the candles if a fire starts. You will also need a lighter, a few towels, and a place to lie down. It is not recommended to use the candles on yourself; it is better to ask for assistance and lie relaxed on a couch or sofa.
