Among various contemporary Native American tribes, including the Cheyenne, Zuni, and Navajo, stones play an important role. Turquoise, for example, is worn for protection, beauty, and its alleged energetic properties.
Additionally, monumental stone pillars and sculptures can be found in many places within Native American territories, often referred to as “totems” or “vortices.” Rocks with warm earth tones are particularly appreciated.
