This magnificent gemstone is found in only a small area of North America. Over the course of millions of years, the nacre of the ammonite shell has transformed to take on this wild array of iridescent colors. Formed 71 million years ago, the result of tectonic pressure and mineralization formed the colorful gemstone that is mined almost exclusively as Korite. Native Canadians call Ammolite the “Buffalo Stone,” while others call Ammolite the “Energy Stone,” “Spirit Stone,” or “7 Color Prosperity Stone.”.
