Black moonstone is actually an unknown stone. Previously, a dark gray variety of moonstone was found in Sri Lanka and India, but a true black one was never found until 2017. In March 2017, a group of miners accidentally discovered a vein in Ambovombo, Madagascar. The stone was immediately highly sought after but also rare. Only a few hundred kilograms were found, and it is assumed that it will be a long time before black moonstone of this exceptional quality is found again. The stone contains valuable powers and is a stone of intimacy and intuitive action. Ideal for deep meditation and grounding.
