Museum piece! Ammolite from Canada, 43.8 kilograms, 58x43 cm.
A stunningly beautiful Ammolite (Placenticeras Meeki) found in 2024 in the Bearpow Formation in Alberta-Canada. This ammolite is no less than 70 million years old and is a beautiful eye-catcher in your home or business. Only between 50 and 55 specimens are found each year.
The Canadian ammolite is incredibly vibrant, exhibiting a wide range of colour tones, including flashes of rare blue. Only a small area of North America hosts this stunning gemstone. Over millions of years, the mother-of-pearl of the ammonite shell has transformed to take on this wild array of iridescent colours. It was formed approximately 71 million years ago. The result of tectonic pressure and mineralisation formed the colourful gemstone that is almost exclusively mined by Korite. Native Canadians call Ammolite the "Buffalo Stone"; others call Ammolite the "Energy Stone", "Spirit Stone" or "7 Colour Prosperity Stone".
