Salvia Yerba, also known as Yerba sage, is a well-known and widely used product among indigenous people of Central America, also known as Indians, especially within shamanism. It is part of the purification ceremonies in which these spicy plants are smothered and the smoke released is used. It encourages getting visions and expels negative energy as well as bad entities. Scientific research has even shown that 94% of the number of bacteria in the room has been broken down after the burning of this herb. Yerba Santa is therefore a purification method that also changes your state of consciousness. It is made from the Eriodictyon californicum plant in Southwestern America.
Yerba sage distinguishes itself from white sage by the smell that is released when burning. Sage has a sharp, pervasive scent that can be described as spicy. Not everyone experiences this scent as equally pleasant. It is therefore more functional than a pleasant home fragrance. The yerba variant gives a slightly sweetish scent to this spicy sage.
Yerba bound. When the leaves are dry, they can be burned. This is tied sage with a length of 22 cm. This way it's easy to ignite. As soon as the top of the bundle burns you can flutter past it with a feather and spread the sacred smoke on objects, people and in every corner of a room. The herb got its name from Spanish monks who were impressed by its beneficial effects. It was used for ancestor worship, but also to strengthen the psychological capacity and to prevent physical ailments such as cough.
