This would have put an end to the series of terrorist years of reign suffered by countless civilians and holy men. Kamsa therefore tried to kill this eighth child, just as he had slain all previous children of Devaki. However, Krishna's father Vasudeva escaped miraculously with the newborn boy, even before the king got wind of it, and verwissselde the baby with the newborn daughter of Yashoda and Nanda Gokula in the country. When King Kamsa finally received word that the eighth child was born, he tried to kill it, but when he wanted to get the newborn baby girl flew out of his hands up and turned into the Goddess Yogamaya. Already floating in the air, they informed him that his death was inevitable with the arrival of her brother, the Most High himself.
