A tambourine is a frame drum, which consists of a hoop which is covered with a sheet and in which some bubbles are confirmed. If not, then it is not just a hand drum tambourine. Are the bells there, but there's no skin tightened, then it is a headless tambourine or a shrill ring. The instrument is struck or moved by hand. In many southern European folk music (Spain, Portugal, Italy), the tambourine is regularly seen and heard. In the classical music becomes the tambourine, in particular from the beginning of the twentieth century, frequently prescribed. One of the earliest users was Joseph Haydn who wrote in for the chorus passage "Es lebe der Wein ..." about the wine festival in the oratorio "The Seasons". Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy she wrote in purely instrumental fandango in the second act of his opera "The Marriage of Camacho" (Rev. 10;. 1825). Richard Strauss wrote the tambourine for the final part of the "Symphonia domestica" (Op. 53).
