The golden ratio has been the measure of harmony for centuries. Mathematicians and artists have developed their theories based on the golden ratio. But can beauty be defined mathematically? This book examines the numerous manifestations of the golden ratio in science and art. One of the marvels of the golden ratio is its inexhaustible ability to create shapes with exquisite properties, ranging from triangles to 20-sided solids. But hidden behind the different names of the golden ratio, we find this ratio in familiar geometric objects, such as credit cards and pentagonal stars. Credit cards are examples of the so-called 'golden rectangle', which is related to the golden ratio. Other well-known shapes, such as spirals, are also closely associated with the golden ratio - they appear in buildings, mosaics and even board games, among other things.
