An obelisk is a memorial needle. It is a square column or column, which becomes slightly thinner towards the top, with a pyramid-shaped obtuse tip, usually made of granite. Ancient columns are often monoliths, but modern obelisks are usually made of more stones and may also contain spaces inside. The largest ancient obelisk was built under Pharaoh Thutmose IV around 1400 BC. The 32-meter high and 455-ton monolith now stands at St. John Lateran in Rome. Also outside Egypt between 1000 BC. and 1000 AD. original obelisks built, including in Assyria, the Kingdom of Aksum, the Roman Empire (including the Caesarea Obelisk at Binjamiena in Israel) and the Byzantine Empire.
