Lemon quartz is a manipulated Quartz and a variant of Quartz which is light or dark yellow in color with sometimes a slightly greenish glow, and with orange or brown shades almost always missing. Usually this variety is artificially produced by heating Amethyst and Iron at high temperatures. An intense pale yellow color can also be created by irradiation of rock crystal. The natural variant is less uniform in color and is particularly suitable for use in the Esoteric.
