Utah miracle stone and (Kanab) Stone are both types of sandstone that are found in Utah in the United States. The magnificent stone sandstone found in Kanab, Utah are characterized by bands and stripes in brown / yellow and red tinten.Ryoliet or outdated rhyolite, is a granite-like volcanic igneous rock with a felsic composition. It is a uitvloeiingsgesteente and consists of more than 68% of silica. The name rhyolite formed from the Greek words ῤεῖν (Rhein), streams, and λίθος (lithos), stone. Rhyolite has, as a consequence of the onset of the extrusive rocks, small crystals. At extrusive magma cools come (called lava and from then on) to the surface quickly to very quickly, so there is no time for the minerals to develop large crystals. Rhyolite typically consists of the mineral quartz, kaliveldspaat and plagioclase. Traces of more mafic minerals such as biotite, amphibole and pyroxene can be present in ryolieten. Due to the high silica rhyolite rate, the molten rock is very viscous (syrupy). This will lava flows with a ryolietsamenstelling are much less mobile than the low viscosity mafic and therefore fast flowing basalt. If rhyolite cools so quickly that no crystals can form, speaks of a proud vitro, or volcanic glass. The best known variant is obsidian.
