Sweetgrass can be burned after smudging or burning herbs that can be used to purify a space, such as white sage. The braid is lit on 1 side, after which you blow out the flame and walk around in the room with it. This spreads the positive energy throughout the room. When you're done, you can dull the Sweetgrass braid in some sand, or cut it with scissors just behind the smoldering end. Watch out for sparks that could be released! While burning, make sure that the room is well ventilated and that you do not inhale the smoke.
