Beautiful and good for our planet.
Since long time mainly in India and Burma Furniture is produced from recycled wood. This wood comes from old boats, doors, window frames and old houses. Sometimes the wood is 20/30 years old but sometimes it can be as old as over 100 years, depending on where it was found. Craftsman repair the wood to useable boards by removing old nails and unusable spots in the wood. Sometimes they have to press the wood for several weeks to make it real flat again. The best quality of wood comes from the Indian south coast where you can find some factories making great pieces of Furniture from this special wood. It is an real art to match the colours so that it is attractive for everyone. De quality of this Furniture is real good and to be compared with new Furniture. The biggest advantage is that a scratch will not be very much visible and this furniture will last years and years. Maybe in 100 years time your old recycled piece of Furniture will be recycled again. Most of the wood is from India and Burma and you can find pieces of mahogany and teak. The wood will not work any more (Shrink or increase) so you will buy maintenance free piece of Furniture that will look great and is good for the planet because no tree will have to be cut for your new piece of Furniture. Please agree with us this is a good green story and it will look like a piece of jewellery in your home. !
