Bumblebee jasper (beautiful cut pieces between 3-15 kilos on a wooden base) from Indonesia.

Although the stone is controversial in the Netherlands, the stone is sold very well worldwide. Of course there is a toxic component in it, but that is the case with more gemstones! Here, as with other minerals, "do not eat or drink the material" but use it for its intended purpose, purely as a decorative object. Because the stone is beautiful and deserves a place with every mineral enthusiast or collector.

Bumblebee Jasper has become more and more popular at the Tucson and Quartzsite shows. It is an orange yellow and black rock that comes from volcanic vents on the island of Bali in Indonesia. We've learned it's not really Agate or Jasper, although some of our pieces are worked up like a large agate, and some worked up to look like Jasper, but all have great patterns and colors. It is a rare type of stone.

Jasper is an opaque and finely crystalline variety of quartz. The chemical composition is identical to that of agate, flint and chert. The colors are variable, from yellow through red and red-brown to green. Jasper stones are cut and polished to be used in jewellery. The name jasper is derived from a Semitic language via Latin and Greek (íaspis) and means "mottled or speckled stone". The main sites of jasper are India (Dekkan Plateau) and Mexico (yellow), Germany (red) and Africa, Australia, Brazil, Egypt, France and the USA (other colours). Jasper has been worked as a gemstone since ancient times. For example, they were made into seal stones, small carved stones and gallantries. Jasper was attributed magical powers. In ancient times it was called the mother of all stones. It is used today in cabochons, table cuts and craft items. Imitations are made of glass. The Egyptians and Greeks already used jasper to strengthen sexuality and to achieve an early pregnancy. The yellow jasper worked as a rain stone for the Indians. A number of medicinal properties are attributed to jasper, such as stress reduction, weight loss, stomach complaints and liver problems. According to various literary sources, Jasper belongs to the constellations Aries, Virgo, Cancer and Scorpio. In the Christian scripture Revelation 4:2-3 it is written: At the same time I was entranced. There was a throne in heaven and someone sat on it. The one sitting there had the appearance of jasper and sardine, and around the throne was a rainbow that looked like an emerald.
