In Buddhism, especially in Thailand, monks are very important, they therefore occupy an important place in Thai society where life is still largely played out in the temple. Many Thai have an image of a Buddha in their house, but often also of a monk with great significance. Often monks from the past who have done a lot of good and should not be forgotten. The sculptures of monks are true works of art, which are made by real coasters out of wax and fiber glass. Because a good quality synthetic resin is used today, the images are less comprehensible for higher temperatures and now remain beautiful with an average Thai's family where there is often no air conditioning. The production process is rather complicated, first a kind of model is made of which a negative is later made, from which a plaster cast is made with a latex mold. This positive figure will later be used to make a one-off cycling of the real work of art. The main mold is filled with the synthetic resin and allowed to harden. (Incidentally, arms, legs and head are cast separately to prevent breakage) Later, everything is put together and the image is processed with special tools to give it a natural look., Birthmarks and tattoos are applied and carefully prepared piece the hairs on the head and finally the clothes are made exactly to size.

The most beautiful wax monks are in the museum in Nakhon Pathom.

LP Suk of Wat Makhamtao (1847 - 1934 CE) was perhaps the greatest Wicha master of the modern era. He was known for his tremendous powers of transformation. . The most famous legends were the ones where he turned transformed elephants belonging to some arrogant traders into house flies and where he was transformed from a man into a crocodile. The last story was widely reported in Thailand at the time, and many witnesses witnessed the event. LP Suk had many followers, but his favorite supporter was of course Prince Chumpon, founder of the Thai navy
