Obsidians are heliocentric. This means that they absorb both light and reflect, making them work extra healing. If you look through the stone in natural sunlight, this is clearly visible. This helps raise your level of consciousness and promotes your spiritual growth. The Andara obsidian is one of the stones within the gemstone family with the greatest healing effect. It can be used for all possible healings and also helps to raise your awareness and accessibility to other dimensions. The Andara Obsidians come in different energetic vibrations and colors; From light to dark, clear to champagne, silver, blue, amber and the most rare of them all, green, yellow, pink and lavender. All stones are ideally suited for meditation and make it even easier to get into a good deep meditation. The Andara Obsidians are known to have been used by Shamans and High Priests in the past. Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass. The name is derived from a Roman called Obsius who in ancient times would have found an obsidian-like stone in Ethiopia. Obsidian occurs with rapid cooling of lava with a water content of up to 3-4%. If the content of volatile constituents (water, carbon dioxide) is higher, pumice will form, because the released gases act as a blowing agent. The formation of volcanic glass depends to a great extent on the viscosity of the liquid lava and this in turn is strongly determined by the content of silicic acid. The higher this content, the slower the liquid flows. Most obsidians have a silicic acid content of 70% or more and are therefore counted among the ryolites. Less often, trachitic, andesitic and phonolithic obsidians with a lower silicic acid content are also found. The color of obsidian varies quite strongly, depending on the contaminants it contains. The color is darkest to deep black, although granite with a comparable composition is a light-colored material. Usually, particularly finely divided hematite or magnetite is the cause of this. Snowflake obsidian contains inclusions of globularally grown structures, most of feldspar or cristobalite, which are called spherulites. They arise from spherical crystal growth from a single central growth nucleus. Obsidian is a metastable material that falls back in the long term in its crystalline, more stable form. Volcanic glass is not known from the Paleozoic and Precambrian. In the Stone Age obsidian was a coveted raw material because it forms razor-sharp cutting edges. It was used for knives and weapons. Today it is a popular material for works of art and is also used as a gemstone in jewelery. It is then ground as if it were a crystal.
