What is Austrian crystal? Austria is the world capital of crystal making. Crystal made in Austria is Austrian crystal. Many jewelery designers and companies use loose Zirconia crystals to use in their pieces. The beauty and brilliance of Zirconia is second to none! In combination with a beautiful quality Enamel, true sparkling works of art are created. Many of these objects have a hinge, making them ideal as a jewelry box, or box for storing and storing trinkets. Austrian Zircon crystal is considered as rhinestone jewelry. The original pebbles were pebbles from rock crystal from the Rhine (the western border of Austria), hence the name rhinestone. These pebbles had a beautiful brilliance and were used as decorations. In 1775, a French jeweler named George Frederic Stras began to coat the bottom of glass with metal powder. The resulting brilliance accurately imitated diamonds. These "gems" were not very affordable because each stone was handmade. Crystal rhinestone items are still very collectible today! They are used in jewelry, costumes, clothing and other accessories. Most of the crystal jewelry is produced in Austria and the Czech Republic.
