More information

Rainbow obsidian is one of the milder species, but with powerful protective properties. It absorbs negative energy from the aura and removes stress from the body. It fills the energy of the heart and interrupts ties of old love. You learn to know your spiritual nature. The color of obsidian alternates quite strongly depending on the impurities it contains. The color is most dark green to deep black, although granite with a similar composition is a light colored material. Mostly, finely divided hematite or magnetite is the cause of this. Snowflake side contains inclusions of spherically grown structures, most of veldspat or cristobalite, called spherulites. They arise through spherical crystal growth from a single central growth core. Obsidian is a metastable material that in the long run falls back in its crystalline, more stable form. Vulcanic glass is therefore not known from the Paleozoic and Precambrium. In the middle of the century, obsidian was a sought-after raw material because it formed slender cutting edges. It was used for knives and weapons. [Source?] Nowadays it is a favorite material for artifacts and is also used as a gemstone in jewelry. It is then cut as if it is a crystal.
