More information

Baking soda was used some 150 years ago in America and England for the rise of dough and batter and it was also used in the household. It is an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical cleaning products and also great for personal care. a real all-rounder in and around the house. So get a large pack of baking soda in your house, because you are right through it! The applications are countless, so you can clean with them, clean microwave ovens and ovens, remove coffee and tea, brush silver, do the laundry, remove blood stains etc. Not only in the home, but also in the garden baking soda is a handy tool to have on hand. Especially if you have a lot of problems with ants. Sprinkle some baking soda on the spots where these little creatures often come and with time all ants disappeared. The best remedy against stains is baking soda. And also much cheaper than expensive stain remover. Make a paste of two tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of water, until you get a consistency similar to a paste. Spread the paste on the stain and allow it to withdraw. Then you put the garment with the stain in the washing machine and you are amazed by the result! The most practical tips can be found in the book "Handbook baking soda" which is also available on our website. Sodium bicarbonate occurs in nature as a mineral called Nahcolite and also as part of the natural substances natron and trona. Natron consists for the most part of a type of soda (sodium carbonate) plus sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride and sodium sulphate. The proportion of sodium bicarbonate or 'baking soda' in sodium is 17%. Trona is a mineral that is not entirely, but for a large part, consists of sodium bicarbonate.
